The maternity service at Torbay Hospital offers Midwifery Lead and Consultant Lead care for approximately 2,500 women per annum. The service is provided by midwifery teams based in the community giving antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care both at home, children’s centres and in the hospital.
Team midwives operate in Torquay (Riviera Team), Torquay & Paignton (Coastal Team), Paignton, Brixham, Totnes & Dartmouth (Waterside Team), Newton Abbot, Ashburton & Buckfastleigh (Torview Team), Teignmouth, Dawlish, Kingsteignton, Chudleigh, Bovey Tracey & Moretonhampstead (Templer Team).
Meridian Team Midwives are based in the Maternity Unit. They provide continuing midwifery care for you should you need extra care. They are also available should your midwives not be or if you live in Kingsbridge, Ivybridge or Salcombe.
