Action for Children
Torbay Children’s Centres are run by Action for Children and have centres in Torquay, Paignton and Brixham offering drop-ins, family support, workshops, fun play sessions, antenatal support, and much more for families and those preparing for parenthood.
Our children’s centres contribute to ensuring that every child gets the best start in life and work towards better opportunities for parents, and a stronger and safer community.

Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust
The Health Visitor and School Nurse team offer Community Public Health Nursing from the ante-natal period through to the age of 19 years.
We support families during pregnancy, with a new baby or a child up until the age of 19 years. We work with you to support you and your family to be healthy, providing health advice, support, drop in clinics, health checks and screening surveillance. We may work within GP surgeries, community clinics, schools, community settings and people’s homes. Some of our work will be with individual young people and their families, some may be within groups. We work with other agencies such as Children’s Centre staff, GPs, Midwives, Early Years’ settings, Voluntary and Community groups and Children’s Services.
Children’s Society Checkpoint
Across Torbay, The Children’s Society’s Checkpoint service provides a range of free and confidential information, advice and support services to children and young people aged 8–18.
Torbay Council
Torbay Council have commissioned Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, along with Action for Children and The Children’s Society, to work together to provide a range of services supporting children, families and young people from pregnancy to 19 across Torbay.
